Blog Journal #9

I have both good and poor experiences with EME2040. I liked how this class introduced me to different tools and sites that I previously had no clue that they existed. I didn't like how this class used things from Microsoft at times, as they always seemed to give me trouble for no good reason, and I don't like how this class is structured in a way as if it is expecting me to be a teacher in my future career. When I do become a teacher (I won't), I would improve the experience of my students by having the course be considerate to those that don't have a specific career in mind for their future.  Open educational resources are learning resources that are normally online, which anyone can access and use through numerous ways. One example of this is OER Commons. This site allows people to view, create, and even share OERs amongst others in groups. This site contains a whole library of OERs that people can view and use for their own needs. Link:  https://oercommons.org/ Ther

When designing my website, there were a couple principles I followed when making it. I made the format of each tabs very consistent and similar to one another, in order to not make it confusing, I made it so that navigating through the tabs was easy, giving it both a regular tab menu, plus a table of contents on the home page. The one thing I disliked about this assignment was how once you picked a template for a website, there was very little that would happen if you would try to change it into something else, which did kind of force me into doing a specific topic that was different from the one I wanted. The only time I would probably use a website, and require implementing these skills that I used here, would be if I become a writer, or enter the writing field, and advertise my services and/or works.  Link:  https://eme2040spring2024.weebly.com/   I do not use any AI tools when doing work. For starters, the only time I would ever have to use something like AI is for writing. In ord

I found several teacher pages on the Canopy Oaks Elementary School website. While the pages of some teachers were notably left blank (probably due to me not being signed in as a student or parent), there were some that had lots of information in their class pages. A majority of teachers had a page that briefly talked about who they were, using Google Slides that people could interact with. Teachers had special calendars and schedules that detailed what they would go over in class, some teachers even having a supply list to help inform students on what they should bring to class.  https://www.leonschools.net/domain/1574   I envision me using technology for a majority of my future professional career. Since I'm majoring in creative writing, and I wish to be a novelist, I am required to be constantly writing, and writing on the computer, especially in a place like Google Docs, is really efficient. As a teacher, I would mostly use tools made by Google, mostly due to their easy access.
